Urban health promoted by AMF academic cooperation

"The AMF can become a center for the development of cooperation among the major Asian cities and universities", secretary General of the AMF said during the visit of Head of the School of Public Health of University of Tehran to promote urban health programs.



 


Goshtasb Mozafari, Secretary General of the AMF has visited Akbari Sari, Head of the School of Public Health, University of Tehran to pave the ground for further cooperation.


As reported by the Public Relations of the AMF, Dr. Goshtasb Mozafari, the Secretary-General of the AMF met with Dr. Akbari Sari, head of the School of Public Health, University of Tehran. They organized this summit in order to enhance the General Assembly's cooperation with the Iranian scientific and educational institutions, in which Dr. Mozafari presented a brief account of the activities of the Assembly, mentioned the goals of the Assembly, and emphasized the Assembly's required preparation and capacity to cooperate with scientific-educational units, including the major Iranian universities.

He added that they would welcome the establishment and development of cooperation with Tehran University of Medical Sciences and its School of Public Health due to its high capacity and good scientific rank in Iran and the region.

Dr. Akbari Sari, Head of the School of Public Health, appreciated the useful explanations and suggestions of the AMF Secretary-General in this summit and said, "This school and this assembly have the capacity for many activities, especially in areas such as environment health, air pollution control, noise pollution, waste management, public health, and health in disasters and crises, which is very close to the goals and program of the Assembly, such as urban viability, resilience and smartness in Asian cities."

Dr. Akbari Sari announced the School of Public Health's willingness for further cooperation for which he suggested holding short-term, long-term, in-person and virtual international courses, as well as one-day and multi-day workshops on urban health.

Expressing his support and appreciation for the initiative and efforts of Tehran Municipality's International Relations to establish a network for the development of international cooperation, he called for greater communication and cooperation to settle the urban and public problems.
